Imagine if Four Tet, Floating Points and Caribou had met at jazz school and formed a live electronic trio? It would be a dream come true to have them perform on Stylin’. But would it really top this performance by Melbourne jazz school buddies I’lls? Dan Rutman, Hamish Mitchell and Simon Lam came into Stylin’ armed with analogue and modular synths and samplers, and pulled off this version of Fifty-Phiphti, with some beautiful additional twists for those already in love with the original. I'lls are currently on hiatus, so in between pestering them to return explore their affiliated projects like Solitaire (label), Couture, Kllo and Nearly Oratorio.
