Bringing 2 coasts together, Seattle’s Jarv Dee and Brooklyn’s Bad Colours have a long-standing working relationship stemming back all the way to 2012. But it wasn’t until a recent re-connection on Bad Colours solo project on Bastard Jazz Recordings that the pair decided to collaborate on a new EP 'BlakHouse'.

As most are familiar with Jarv Dee for his heavy-hitting, gritty rhymes, Jarv is paving a new lane for himself over Bad Colours' house-inspired beats.

'Black Skin' features Seattle’s Stas THEE Boss, formerly of the THEESatisfaction, now a radio DJ herself on KEXP.

Like so many others, this came like a bolt out of the blue and, even though it's well before payday, I had to have this astonishing album on vinyl to prove it exists. The feel of the tunes makes me feel like the Impressions do, Curtis Mayfield, the big spaces and instinctive horns and stuff drifting in and out. Great grooves and I can see lots of ghosts nodding along to this with big smiles on their faces. At last! Anthony Cottrell
